MNQP Logger 2009

Does WIQP also !

We have a version that does NDQP also !

MNQP Home Page is  http://www.w0aa.org

NDQP Home Page is http://www.k0ln.com/

Last update 03/21/2009

Updated North Dakota Logger. Fixed problem of giving credit for VE providences, I guess they are
just DX. One thing that's not clear is if ND should count as as state for ND stations. This version
still counts it. If it is not supposed to count for ND stations just remove the ND line near the bottom of the ndstates.dat file.

Also fix for Time offset being wrong. The state of daylight savings time was not being read correctly from the computer.

This version has a option to be able to change the time in the log by any amount of seconds up to one day. See the menu item Setup->Fix Time.

Download MNQPLogger Version 2.5.3 (FOR North Dakota). This does MN and ND, not WI

Download MNQPLogger Ver 2.0.2  as self installing/uninstalling file.

Download MNQPLogger.zip Ver 2.0.2 zipped install file.

As with all of this type of software I make no warranty as to its suitably for your use. I have done my best to make the program robust and stable.

Version for NDQP. This does only NDQP and MNQP. I did not test this on MNQP at all after the changes so some MNQP

parts could be broke. If this works out I'll do a combined ND/WI/MN version for next year.

Version 2.0.0 Notes

MNQPLogger Version 2.0

As this is a big step and the program is now trying to manipulate the hardware on the computer problems are bound to arise. I have only tested this on a limited set of computers and hardware variants. Basically I've tried to keep everything as generic as possible to avoid problems.

CW Keying via either parallel port or Serial Port (COM1 and COM2 only)
Voice Keyer using sound card with PTT via either Parallel Port or Serial Port (COM1 and COM2 only)

Radio support is supplied via using VE3NEA's Omni-Rig interface. Omni-Rig is included in the MNQPLogger install package in should install without any other intervention.
Currently the following radios are supported by Omni-Rig.
Others can be added fairly easily.
TS-440, TS-570, TS-850, TS-870, FT-817, FT-847, FT-857, FT-897, FT-1000,
FT-1000MP, IC-718, IC-737, IC-746Pro, IC-756ProII, IC-761, Elecraft K2,
TenTec Paragon II, Ten-Tec Orion, JST-245, FT-100D, FT-900, FT-920,
FT-990, IC-706MKiiG, IC-735, IC-746, IC-756, IC-7800

You can use radio control on any COM port on the system however if you use serial port cw keying and ptt MNQPLogger currently only supports that on COM1 and COM2 at the standard interface address's. I hope to fix that in a future so the serial port keying tracks the rig setup via the Omni-Rig interface.

This version supports 1 or 2 radios. If you have 2 radios installed, you can enable Radio A/B switching in the ports setup dialog. This will allow use output the switching signal on Pin 14 of the parallel port. This is what is normally used to switch SO2R box's.

In order to support cw keying and ptt and radio A/B under Windows 2000/XP MNQPLogger uses a device driver to get access to the ports. The consideration here is that in order for this to work properly under a normal user account, MNQPLogger needs to be installed under an Administrator account.
If you install MNQPLogger under and account without admin privilege, you can use the program 'cfgwinio.exe' to get the port driver installed later. Do this when logged in as an administrator, reboot the machine and the port driver will work under a normal user account.
Icons are provided in the start menu to install and remove this driver. MNQPLogger will attempt to do this for you at install and removal time so you shouldn't need to do this manually.
