Setup|Traffic Loading

This screen is used to adjust how the traffic loading works. Traffic loading when enabled causes the program to send out CT messages to the network. Most types of message may be generated, simulating the kind of activity there might be during a contest. The rate at which it generates these messages is adjustable. Message types are generated in a random order/rate.

The Rate (qso/hr) adjusts the maximum rate at which the program will generate logging messages. Rates are available from 24 per hour up to 12000 per hour.

The Density (1:X) adjusts the density of all other messages in relation to the QSO Rate.

Tuning/Band Change messages are generated at a higher rate than the other messages.

Time messages are all ways sent at 10-second intervals. This is what CT normally does.

Source Station Number allows you to set what Station that the traffic loading messages will come from. Valid values are 1-16; you should select a number that is not currently in use on the network your testing. If you want to send time messages you might want to use station number one, however I have found that CT does not care what station number the time message comes from.

In the Contest Type you can select what type of messages that the program generates to simulate different types of contests. If there is sufficient interest I will add in other types.

Currently supported are CQWW and ARRLDX, note that cqww zone and call sign are not related in any way.

In Message Types to Send you can select what types of message to generate. Be care with time messages. If you enable time messages you could have the case where two machines are sending time messages with different times.
